A paddling route runs along the Ohře from Cheb all the way to Kadaň, with campsites and accommodation along the way. It is mostly a calm river, suitable for families and less experienced paddlers too. In summer it tends to be very busy – on long weekends the campsites along the river are full, so it is a good idea to plan ahead.
Boat, raft and kayak rentals on the Ohře operate mainly a bit further downstream – for example in Kynšperk nad Ohří, about a quarter of an hour by car from Cheb. Rentals usually also arrange transport of boats and people to the start and from the finish. In summer, book in advance.
If you don't feel like going on the water, you can enjoy the Ohře from the bank. Right in Cheb, Krajinka park stretches along the river with paths for walkers and cyclists, playgrounds and places to relax, and in summer also concerts and events. It is a few minutes' walk from the guesthouse.
In the evening you can have a barbecue on our terrace under the large parasol.
Is the Ohře suitable for beginners?
The Ohře is mostly a calm river and families paddle it too. You do need to watch out for the weirs, though – it is better to carry your boat around dangerous ones. Always check the water level before setting off.
Do you rent boats at the guesthouse?
We do not rent boats. Rentals operate a bit further downstream on the Ohře, for example in Kynšperk nad Ohří, and usually arrange transport as well.
